High Head High Flow Multistage Water Pump
Multistage centrifugal pumps, designed for clean fluid transfer, differ from single stage centrifugal pumps as they have two or more impellers, as opposed to the one impeller. There are different versions of multistage pump available with the impellers installed either in series on the same shaft for higher pressure applications, or in parallel on opposite shafts for installations where higher flow rates are required. Side channel pumps are also usually multistage in design to allow them to reach their pressure capabilities.
Due to their tight impeller clearance, multistage pumps are unable to handle solids and abrasive content unless they are oversized, which is why they are generally used with water and other clean, low viscosity fluids.
