1. The fire pump should adopt self filling water absorption.
2. When the fire pump directly pumps water from the municipal pipe network, a backflow preventer with air partition should be set on the outlet pipe of the fire pump.
3. When there is no suction well at the water inlet, a cyclone preventer should be set at the water inlet.
4. For a group of fire pumps, there shall be no less than two suction pipes. When one of them is damaged or overhauled, the remaining suction pipes shall still be able to pass through all the design flow of fire water supply.
5. The layout of fire pump suction pipe should avoid the formation of air bag.
6. A group of fire water pumps shall be provided with at least two main water pipes connected with the fire water supply ring pipe network. When one of the water pipes is overhauled, the rest of the water pipes shall still be able to supply all the design flow of fire water supply.
7. The submergence depth of the water inlet of the fire pump shall meet the requirements of safe operation of the fire pump at the lowest water level. The submergence depth of the water inlet bell under the lowest effective water level of the fire pool shall be determined according to the water flow velocity and hydraulic conditions of the water inlet bell, but shall not be less than 600mm. When cyclone preventer is used, the submergence depth should not be less than 200 mm.
8. Rising stem gate valve or butterfly valve with self-locking device shall be set on the suction pipe of fire pump, but the opening scale and mark shall be set when the Non rising stem valve is set; When the pipe diameter exceeds DN300, electric valve should be set.
9. The outlet pipe of fire pump shall be equipped with check valve and rising stem gate valve; When butterfly valve is used, it should be equipped with self-locking device; When the pipe diameter is larger than DN300, electric valve should be set.
10. When the diameter of fire pump suction pipe is less than DN250, the flow rate should be 1.0-1.2m/s; When the diameter is larger than DN250, it should be 1.2-1.6m/s.
11. When the diameter of fire pump outlet pipe is less than DN250, the flow rate should be 1.5m-2.0m/s; When the diameter is larger than DN250, it should be 2.0m-2.5m/s;
12. The layout of the suction well should meet the requirements of smooth flow, uniform velocity and no vortex in the well, and it should be convenient for installation and construction;
13. When the suction pipe and outlet pipe of fire pump pass through the external wall, waterproof sleeve shall be used; When passing through walls and floors, it shall meet the requirements of Clause 5 of article 12.3.19 of the code;
When the suction pipe of the fire pump crosses the fire pool, the flexible sleeve should be used; When the rigid waterproof casing is used, the flexible joint shall be set on the water pump suction pipe, and the pipe diameter shall not be greater than DN 150.
